Researchers also checked out the grills’ ignitions, controls, features (like tool holders), cleanability and ease of assembly. they even rated the manuals and the companies’ customer service. Phew!
they tested 14, priced from less than $100 to more than $1,000, and found excellent cooking results and even heating as well as helpful extras such as side burners, concealed gas tanks, wheels for portability and more. GHRI recommends these — in gas (numbers 1-4) and charcoal (No. 5).
1. Weber Genesis EP-330 ($1,000) » Bring a gourmet kitchen outdoors. Its three burners heated perfectly even, resisted flare-ups and cooked chicken without charring — no easy feat. Features abound: hooks for grill tools, a side burner that can double as a workspace and a gas gauge.
2. Kenmore 16135 ($600) and 3. Kenmore 02579797 ($300) » for excellent cooking, consider the Kenmore 16135. The four even-heating burners grilled steak and chicken with no flare-ups. this stainless stunner has a side burner and storage, and it rolls easily on four wheels. The Kenmore 02579797 offers good grilling for less cash.
4. Blue Rhino UniFlame GBC1134W ($168) » this three-burner is a bargain in a full-size grill. It seared sirloin well and didn’t flare up from fat drippings, though it struggled to cook chicken without charring — you’ll have to watch it while it grills. A side burner, a shelf and warming racks are bonuses at this price.
5. Char-Broil Patio Bistro ($179) » this compact grill is great if your outdoor space is at a premium, or if you would like a grill that travels easily. Its single burner, which ignites with the turn of a knob, didn’t flare up or smoke in our tests. It wasn’t the most even-heating, but did a super job searing steak. It cooked chicken thoroughly when used on the lowest setting.

Master Forge Jet Light ($179) » for extra-smoky flavor, gas doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to charcoal. this grill’s propane igniter makes quick work of lighting, a crank allows you to adjust the distance between coals and food, and a front flap provides access for adding coals during use. - Dorel Asia Wooden Bunk Beds: Sold at Walmart, Kmart, Target and online from September 2004 through September 2009 for about $190. the wooden side rails that run from the headboard to the footboard and hold the bunk bed’s mattress in place can split and cause the bunk bed to collapse, posing a fall hazard. Consumers should immediately contact Dorel Asia to receive a free repair kit. until the kit is received, consumers should take down the bunk beds and only use them as separate twin beds.
- 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe: the intermediate shaft may suffer from noise and excessive wear due to a misalignment of the intermediate shaft with the right side output gear – continuing to drive the vehicle in this condition leads to the development of a whirring/whining noise and can eventually cause damage to the automatic transmission. This may cause the loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the right side output gear and intermediate shaft free of charge.
